Lesson 5 of 8 · for the owner or a manager

Calling lists: the right leads, in order, for the right callers

A calling list is a set of leads picked by stage, source or what they asked about, with callers put on it. Your callers work through it one lead after another. It puts leads in order. It does not dial them.

After this lesson you can
  • Make a calling list from the leads you choose.
  • Put callers on the list and start, pause or finish it.
  • See who is next to call and how each call ended.
  • Read the list’s numbers: called, connected and won.

Step by step

Making a list is for the owner and managers. Accounts open very soon. The steps below are the screens as they are built today.

  1. Open CampaignsOpen the Campaigns app. Its menu has one item, Calling lists. Press New calling list.
  2. Name the listFill in Name of the list. Use a name your callers will understand, such as the course and the month.
  3. Pick which leads go inThree boxes choose the leads: Stage, Source and what they asked about. Leave a box on Any to not filter by it. Leads marked Do not call are left out.
  4. Tick the callersUnder Callers, tick the people who will work this list, then press Make list. A message says how many leads went in. With a caller ticked the list is On. With none it waits as Draft.
  5. Open the listThe table Next to call shows each lead with its Stage and Owner. Beside it is a bar that reads called of total, and one bar for each call outcome.
  6. Work through itEach caller takes the next lead. On the portal a row has Dial and Log call. Every call is still one person calling one lead.
  7. Pause, change or finishUnder the bars are Change callers, Pause or Start, and Finish. A list is in one of four states: Draft, On, Paused or Done.
  8. Compare your listsThe Calling lists table has a row for each list: Called, Callers, Connected, Won and State.

Good habits and common mistakes

Good habits
  • Make one list for one purpose. A list for Fresh leads of one course is easier to finish than everything at once.
  • Tick two callers on a long list, so a day off does not stop it.
  • Press Finish when the list is done, so the table shows only live lists on top.
Common mistakes
  • Pressing Start with no caller ticked. The portal asks you to pick at least one caller first.
  • Filtering so tightly that no lead matches. The list is not made, and you are told to change what you picked.
  • Expecting the list to call people by itself. It is not an auto-dialler, and there is no bulk calling.
  • Forgetting to tick the Campaigns app for a caller in Team. A caller opens a list only with that app.

Asked about this lesson

Is a calling list bulk calling?

No. It is an order to call in. Each call is one caller pressing Call for one lead, from their own SIM.

Can a caller make a list?

No. New calling list shows for the owner and managers.

What about leads marked Do not call?

They are never put on a list, and they are left out of Next to call if they are marked later.

Does a list change who owns a lead?

The lead keeps its owner. The Next to call table shows the Owner beside each lead.

Stop losing leads to “I’ll call later”.

See pricing on the home page, or ask for a demo with your own kind of leads.
